Cento is a household budgeting app published by Unkra Inc.. These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Unkra Inc. governing your use of the Cento app and website (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms; if you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service is provided by Unkra Inc. ("Unkra," "we," "us," or "our"), a company incorporated in Ontario, Canada, with a mailing address at Unkra Inc., 400 Walmer Rd #1809, Toronto, ON M5P 2X7, Canada. You can reach us at support@centomoney.com.
You must be at least 16 years old to use Cento, and old enough to hold the financial accounts you connect. By using the Service you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate. If you use Cento on behalf of a household, you are responsible for the members you invite.
Cento is a personal and household budgeting tool. It connects to your financial accounts (through Plaid) to import transactions and balances, and helps you and your household categorize spending, set budgets, track recurring charges, and review activity. Cento is an informational tool only. It is not a bank, money transmitter, payment service, tax preparer, or financial, investment, legal, or accounting adviser, and it cannot move, hold, or transfer money. Nothing in the Service is financial advice. Imported data may occasionally be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate because it comes from your financial institutions and Plaid — always verify important information directly with your bank.
You sign in without a password, using a passkey or a one-time code emailed to you (provided through our authentication provider, Hanko). You are responsible for keeping access to your email and your devices secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@centomoney.com if you believe your account has been compromised.
Budgets in Cento belong to a household. A household has one admin who controls the shared budget and membership and can invite others with a one-time code; the admin role can be transferred to another member. You choose whether each account you link is shared with your household or kept private to you. Shared accounts — and their transactions — are visible to other household members; private accounts are not, unless you explicitly share an individual transaction from one. If you leave a household, or an admin removes you, the accounts you linked (and their transactions) are removed with you. You are responsible for deciding what to share, and for the people you invite into your household.
Bank connections are provided by Plaid Inc. ("Plaid"). When you link an account, you authorize Plaid to access transaction and balance information from your financial institution on your behalf, and you authorize Unkra Inc. to receive, store, and display that information to operate the Service. You enter your bank credentials directly into Plaid — Cento never sees or stores your bank login credentials. Your use of Plaid is also governed by Plaid's end-user privacy policy. See our Plaid disclosure for details.
Cento is offered as an auto-renewing subscription of US$5.99 per month per household, which includes every member of your household at no additional cost. New subscriptions may include a one-week free trial; if you do not cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription and you will be charged.
You agree to use Cento only for lawful purposes and only with financial accounts you are authorized to access. You may not: attempt to disrupt, overload, or interfere with the Service; probe, scan, or test its security without permission; access other users' data; copy, resell, or commercially exploit the Service; or reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
The Service, including the Cento app, website, design, and content we provide, is owned by Unkra Inc. and its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your own household budgeting. The data you and your household add — your accounts, categories, tags, notes, and budgets — remains yours.
Cento relies on third parties to function, including Plaid (bank data), Hanko (authentication), Cloudflare (hosting and storage), and Apple (the App Store, push notifications, and billing). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party services we do not control.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that imported financial data will be accurate, complete, or timely. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unkra Inc. and its directors, officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under the law that applies to you, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.
You can stop using Cento at any time, and you can delete your account from Settings, which permanently removes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. If you are the admin of a household that has other members, you must transfer the admin role before deleting your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, if required for security or legal reasons, or if we discontinue the Service. Cancelling a subscription does not by itself delete your account or data.
We may add, change, or discontinue features of the Service. We may also update these Terms; when we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email. Changes take effect when posted (or on the effective date we state). Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the courts located in Ontario, Canada will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country or province where you live, and you may also be entitled to bring proceedings there.
